He was predeceased by: his parents, A. A. Sazama and Mary Rose Sazama (Warmka); and his brother Mark Sazama. He is survived by: his wife Jane Sazama of Round Lake; his sons, Anthony Sazama of Round Lake, Edward Sazama of Round Lake and James Sazama (Jessica) of Windsor, CO; his grandchildren, Ian, Shae, Christopher, Macy, Megan, Patrick Sazama, Summer and Daly Kruger; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Amelia, Mason, Connor and Daisy; and his sisters, Bernadete Bleess (Ray) of Okabena and Kathy Grassmann of Chaska. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
