He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Grunewald and Ellen Grunewald (Erickson); and his wife Donna Helvick. He is survived by: his children, Kim Brenden (Bruce) of Rothsay, Kevin (Lorrie) of Fergus Falls and Keith (Angela) of Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Heidi Brenden, Katie Lee (Brady), Andrew Brenden (Becca), Abbey, Shelby, Zachary, Jason Grunewald and Jaclyn Hanson (Tony); his stepgrandchildren, Mavyn and Evan Peterson; his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Easton, Tatum, Aimsey, Kaylor, Emerick, Adelyn, Avery, Charlotte, Carter, Jordyn, Laityn, Sienna and Emilia; and his siblings, Duane Grunewald (Kay) and Elaine Thiel (Gary). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Olson Funeral Home (711 Pebble Lake Rd, Fergus Falls, MN 56537). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
