He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cownie and Leona Cownie. He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his sons, David (Annmarie) and James (Maggie); his grandchildren, Kirsten Bury (Zach), Kevin (Alexa), Emerson and Ben; his great grandchild Linden Bury; and his sisters, Shirley Barr and Phyllis Robinson.
