He was predeceased by: his parents, John David and Cora Shelland; and his brother James Robert Shelland. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Erickson; his children, Jan Mershon (William), Scott Shelland, Stephanie Bower (Matt), David Erickson and Judi Bloom (Joe); his grandchildren, Philip (Jillian), Drew, Joshua, Kendra (Chris), Amanda and Nathan; his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jayna, Calvin and Margret; his granddaughter Sister Carol Buscher; his nieces, Wanda and Sarah; and his nephew Mark.
