He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Hagen and Ruth (Harding); and his son David. He is survived by: his wife Judy Hagen of Warroad; his children, William Jr. of Salol and Lori Minard (Ron) of Bozeman, MT; his stepdaughter Missy Tedford (Steve) of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Camryn Hagen, Tyler, Jared, Jacob Minard and Taylor Tedford; his great grandchild Matthew; and his sisters, Vivian Miller (Jon) of Warroad and Darlene Wolff of Huntsville, AL..

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Spruce Cemetery.
