He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Rugland (Sando) and George Rugland; his wife Gloria Rugland; his daughter Diane Rugland; his brother Steve Rugland; his nephew Stewart Rugland; and his close friend Delores Anderson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice Harshaw of Cookville, TN, Kelly Nelson (John) and Thief; and his grandchildren, Rhonda Daigneault (Mark) of Tacoma, WA, Jade Fredrickson (Wendy) of Lancaster, MN, Heidi Tunheim (Andrew) of Wishek, ND, Lance Fredrickson (Kayla) of North Glenn, CO, Wayne Hanson (Santana), Lindsay Merchant (Parker), Jenny Woods (Jason) of Goodridge, MN, Jessie Nelson (Shane) of Casper, WY and Jake Nelson (Kasey). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
