He was predeceased by: his parents, Swedish and Frans; his wife Aileen Johnston; his daughter Francha Rugland; his grandson Mark; and his sisters, Elizabeth Hatlestad, Alice Dybedahl Grahn, Hildur Wallestad, Ida Akerlund, Cecelia Boles, Rose Madison, Anna Stromgren and Lillie Gray.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Grahn of Fargo, ND, Pamela Wenzel (Bob) of Warroad, MN and Shelley Peterson (Greg) of Starbuck, MN; his son-in-law Glaydon Rugland of Roseau, MN; his grandchildren, Candi Madoll (Travis), Travis Grahn, Elisabeth Deichsel (Tom), Christopher Grahn, Misti Okerlund (Michael), Jeremy Nelc (Hajnal), Zachary Wenzel and Brian Peterson (Tiffany); his great grandchildren, Sarena Gausen (Jamie), Corey Madoll (Meredith), Luke Madoll, Asher, Felicity, Augustina Deichsel, Anders, Charles Okerlund, Sofia, Aria Nelc, Kylee, Wyatt and Brea Peterson; and his great great grandchildren, Brevyn, Keithyn Gausen, Vincent, Odell Madoll and Deklyn Madoll. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
