She was predeceased by: her parents, Laurence Dahlen and Esther Dahlen (Nelson); her son Bruce; and her husband Rolland Kastner. She is survived by: her former husband Bennett Schmechel; her daughter Lorraine Rice (Sheldon); her daughter-in-law Lesa Schmechel; her stepchildren, Sheryl Oligny (Michael) and James Kastner (Tammy); her grandchildren, Sarah Picard (Mike), Teresa Hulst (Bryan), Erin Enos (Dan), Emilee Sundberg (Erik), Amanda Schmechel, Nicholas Oligny (Heidi), Therese Wilson (Adam), Lauren Donahue (John), Phillip, Collin Oligny, Loren Hudson (Sean), Christopher, Adrianna and John Kastner; and her sisters, Avis Linstad (Clayton) and Karen Spriggs (Fred). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
