He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Scherber and Lovina Scherber; his stepmother Helen Scherber; his parents-in-law, Robert and Edna Zahler; his brother-in-law Dennis Durant; his son-in-law Jerry Liefert; and his great grandchild Julia Jo Arns.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Jan Hofford (Jeff), JoLynn Arns (Bill), Maureen Kolles (Chas), Marguerite Fehn (Mike), Karen Otto (Keith) and Kevin Scherber (Melissa); his sister Darlene Weber (Jerry) of Diane Scherber; and his sibling-in-law Harvey Zahler (Betty) of Verla Durant. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church building fund.
