He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Norman and Pearl Ruth Thompson; his grandparents, Norman, Hannah Thompson, Mathew and Elisabeth Gaile; and his siblings, Pamela Glee Thompson Gilbert and Theadore Gaile Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Nick Peterson and Katie M. Peterson of Twin Cities, MN; his sister Faye Elisabeth Sparks (Ray Joachim) of Prior Lake, MN; his nephew Dan Sparks (Drea) of Austin, MN; and his niece Lisa Sparks Mulhern of Spirit Lake, IA. He is also survived by numerous cousins, grand nieces and nephews.
