She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Colin Phelps Monk and Mary "Kathy" Kathleen Talley; her husband Joe; her son Darryl Joseph Drozdik; her family, Debbie, Lucky and Derek Mellen; her daughter Nikki; and also Kyle Williams.

In March of 2020 she had a particularly bad episode that put her in the hospital, soon after the Covid-19 pandemic hit leaving her stranded in the hospital alone.

Sandy and Joe would run to pick up the donations from the Target location out in Maple Grove.
