He is survived by: his wife Abigail; his children, Amanda and Dean; his parents, Kathy Lape and Wayne Lape; his brother Paul Lape (Kara); his nieces and nephews, Mason, Karey and Micah; his sister Kariann Buser (Chad); his uncle Vito DiMucci; and his children, Boy Scout Troop and Wolf Ridge Retreats.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in John's name to the Church of St. Joseph the Worker.
