She was predeceased by: her husband John W. Grotkin; her siblings, Marilyn Hefel (Clair) and John Kuhl; and her daughter-in-law Rhonda Grotkin (Jack). She is survived by: her children, Terry Schroeder (Gary), Diane Callahan (Jack), Pat Fleck (Ron), Ginny Udelhoven (Tony) and Jack Grotkin (Sandy); her grandchildren, Rachel Udelhoven, Emily Ehlinger (Tim), Mary Callahan (Nick Chambless), Aaron Schroeder (Katie), Adam Udelhoven, John Callahan (Rachel), Colin Schroeder, John Grotkin (Sophia), Lauren Grotkin (Emily) and Chris Grotkin; her great grandchildren, Gwen, Stella Ehlinger and John Grotkin (Quinn); and her sister Betty Fritz (Bill) of Dubuque. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to cancer research at Mayo Clinic and the Texas 4000 for Cancer.
