He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Willy" Bontrager and Elizabeth Bontrager (Petersheim); his parents-in-law, Alphonse and Kathryn Macke; his daughter Kathryn Elizabeth; his brothers, Alvin and Freddie Bontrager; and his sisters-in-law, Lydia Bontrager and Kathy Macke.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia "Tricia"; his wife Teresa (Macke); his children, Tricia Rastedt (David) of Ottertail, MN, Pamela Halvorson of Perham, MN and Nathan Bontrager (Katie) of Richville, MN; his grandchildren, Tanner, Owen, Lindsey, Lacey Rastedt, Avery, Kathryn Halvorson, Mya and Tia Bontrager; his siblings, David Bontrager (Anna) of Hazelton, IA, Perry Bontrager (Barbara) and Viola Hershberger of Dalton, WI; and his siblings-in-law, Tony Macke (Naoma) of Creighton, NE, Gary Macke (Fay) of Royal, NE, Charlie Macke (Diane) of Oelwein, IA, Robert Macke (Penny) of Hawkeye, IA, Joe Macke of Manley, NE, Tim Macke (Doris) of Fairbank, IA, Janice Rahe of Marshall, MN and Bev Engler (Fred) of Randalia, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
