With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Marie Opsal of Richfield, Minnesota, born in Austin, Minnesota, who passed away on October 7, 2022 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bernt C. Opsal; her parents, Jennie Johnson and Eddie Johnson; her brother Nathan; her sister-in-law Elaine Johnson; her siblings, Lois Williams, Melford and Ingvald; her sister-in-law Klara Opsal; her nephews, Paul and James Opsal; her great-nephew Max Bents; and also Sammi Kohn.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Frederickson (Paul), Peter Opsal (Sandra), Ruth Miller and Karen Waters (Odell); her grandchildren, Marie Frederickson, Paul Frederickson, Jr. (Kayo), Kelly Watanabe (Scotty), Odell Waters, Jr. (Karie), Elvia Steiner (Dave), Susan Waters and Sam Waters (Alyssa Bailey); her great grandchildren, Gideon, Jeremiah, Hanna, Owen, Brayden, Landon, Delano, Cameron, Ciara, Alonzo and Isabel; her great great grandchildren, Aiden and Hayden; her brother-in-law L. H. Williams, Jr.; her cousin Norwegian; and her friend Margaret Overlie.
