He was predeceased by: his wife Betsy. He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Kaupe and Karen Krenik (Andy); his grandchildren, Michael Kaupe (Kayla), Matthew Kaupe (Amber), Meaghan Kaupe-Morrow (Michael), Logan Krenik and Paul Krenik; and his great grandchildren, Grayson, Brooklyn, Noah, Hadley and Henry. He is also survived by two brothers and their spouses.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Diamond Lake Lutheran Church (5760 Portland Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55417). A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
