He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hoffmann and Clara Hoffmann (Siem) of Eyota, MN.; and his siblings, Erma Mensing (Kenneth), Caroline Winter (Ronald), Eleanor Tiedeman (Gerald), Leonard Hoffmann (Eunice), Helmuth Hoffmann (Lynnette), Betty Williams (Keith), Velma Lindstrom (Ray) and LaVonne Costello (Jim).
He is survived by: his wife Fran "Frannie" Hoffmann; his children, Angell Pearson (Randy) and Jason Hoffmann (Erin); and his grandchildren, Kyle, Cassie, Leah Hoffmann, Anna and Easton Pearson.
The family asks for any donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter.
