She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gottwalt and Eleanor Gottwalt (Kasella); her son Wayne; her siblings, Joseph Gottwalt Jr. and Renee Helmin (Al); and her brother-in-law Dennis Petron.
She is survived by: her husband Jim of Rice; her sons, Thomas (Amy) of Brooklyn, WI and Patrick (Colleen) of Lewiston, ID; her daughter-in-law Sharon Schlangen (Rod Gapinski) of Rice; her siblings, John Gottwalt (Carol) of Rice, Patricia Petron (Willard) of Rice, Judith Chmielewski of St. Cloud, Joyce Petron of Bowlus, James Gottwalt (Kathy) of Rice, Anne Klinkhammer (Daniel) of Hinckley and Eugene Gottwalt (Cindy) of Royalton; and her sister-in-law Carol Gottwalt of Pierz. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 5th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 6th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (130 1st St SW, Rice, MN 56367). A rosary was held on Wednesday, March 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, March 6th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Poor Clare's Monastery.
