He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Mackey and Gladys Mackey; his brother Alex Mackey; and his brother-in-law Roger Dyrssen. He is survived by: his daughter Leiha Baynes (Brian); his siblings, Betty Hall (Bob), Myrna Dyrssen, Loren Mackey (Paula), LeAnn Hauer (Robert) and Jayne Fratzke (Doug); his grandchildren, Luke Baynes (Teila) and Stacey Lundquist (Oliver); and his great grandchildren, Marshall, Blake, Mason Baynes, Royal, Dempsey and Poppy Lundquist. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
