He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Sargent and Lorraine Lizebeth Lightning (Carrie Iceman); his son Zeboriah James Lightning Fish; his siblings, Thomas Lightning and Bernadine "Gidget" Sargent; and his niece Lorraine "Rainy" Londo.
He is survived by: his children, Floyd Iceman (Suzee), Liz Sargent, Josette Sargent, Cameron Sargent (Alexa), Justin Tejada (Casondra), Vernon Sargent Jr. (Krystal), Gerald Sargent, Jennie Kappenman and Waaban Kappenman (Wilson); his grandchildren, Samantha Iceman, Carrie Iceman, Devin Nash, Vernon Sargent III, Calvin Tejada, Blair Sargent, Abigail Sargent, Rayhaunna Rushman, Rhileigh White, Daraya Kingbird and Jamison Kingbird; and his great grandchild Eden Chyld. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
