It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernice Cordes of Red Wing, Minnesota, who passed away on December 16, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Cordes and Alvina Cordes (Michaelsen); his daughter Vickie Bergene; his son-in-law Keith Holst; his brothers, Franklin, Orlin (Viola), Lyle (Leona) and Walter (Audrey); and his brothers-in-law, Russel Carlson, Orville Tackmann, Robert Koenig and Noel Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Volkers; his daughters, Pamela Bender (Scott) of Red Wing, Lori Hoyer (Alan) of Bay City and Diane Holst of Red Wing; his grandchildren, Kari Wing (Aaron), Tyrell Hoyer, Joy White (Tony), Seth Hoyer (Kelsey), Justin Gustafson (Kristy), Chris Holst (Linsy), Kory Holst (Amanda), Staci Chisholm (Jon), Alex Hoyer (Candace), Mary Bender, Logan Bender and Jessica Spencer (Ben); his sisters, Vera Carlson of Red Wing and Verna Koenig of Lake City; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Johnson of Portland and Herman Volkers of Clarkville, Tenn.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
