He was predeceased by: his parents, Neil Thomas Garvin and Yvonne G. Foley Garvin; and his siblings, Greg, Steve Garvin and Jane Garvin.

He is survived by: his children, Jaimie Foote (Chris), Jenny Garvin, Sam Garvin and Frank Garvin; his grandchildren, Lola and Jack Foote; his sister Kate Schaffer (Bob); and his nieces and nephews, Joel Schaffer, Jeffrey Schaffer (Kate Lorenz) and Kelly Joyce (Tyler). He is also survived by great-nieces and nephew; relatives and friends.

The family would like to request donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
