He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Huppert and Lorraine Huppert (Duden); his brother John; and his granddaughters, Sophie and Emma.

He is survived by: his wife Jill Welt of Joseph's Catholic Church; his children, Tara Huppert and Jason Huppert; his grandchildren, Taylor, Aaliyah and Brantley; his siblings, Robert Huppert (Kathryn Roberts) of Wasilla, Roger Huppert (Carrie) of Nashville, Richard Huppert (Sharon) of Cave Creek, Rodney Huppert (Gina) of Red Wing, Sharon Lorraine (Peter Helgeson) of Vadnais Heights, Sheryl Paton of Red Wing and Sheila Goering (Michael) of Frontenac; and his sister-in-law Linda Welt of Edina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
