He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Ottem and Genevieve Ottem (Cunningham); his siblings, Jane Grubisch and Denny Ottem; and his brother-in-law Bernie Grubisch.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Mike Grubisch (Kari), Mary Sue "Susie" Grubisch (Mark Vaughn), Kathy Theis (Glenn), Jean Minnerath (Allan), Joe Grubisch (Beth) and Christopher Ottem (Jessica). He is also survived by 13 great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or the Demontreville Jesuit Retreat House.
