He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Mikaelsen and Luverne D. Mikaelsen (Wold); and his brothers, David and Daniel. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Mikaelsen (Jay); his children, Theresa Bates (Mitch) of Caranavi, Bolivia, Jesse Mikaelsen (Anne) of Whitehall, MI and Dallas Mikaelsen (Danae) of Miami, Florida; his grandchildren, Evan Ringelberg, Kellan Mikaelsen, Piers Mikaelsen, Fern Mikaelsen and Spring Mikaelsen; and his siblings, Judy Yund of Bolivia, S. A., Ruth Gee (Bruce) of Florida, Ben Mikaelsen (Connie) of Washington and Joel Mikaelsen (Annie) of Michigan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calendar Vasa Lutheran Center (15235 Norelius Rd, Welch, MN 55089).
