He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton Zemke and Marjorie Zemke (Kahl); his stepdaughter Laurie Hayes; his sister Barbara Pechacek; and his brother-in-law Charles Voth.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hayes of Red Wing; his stepchildren, Kathy Jacobson of Red Wing, Rodney Hayes of Red Wing, Mark Hayes of Red Wing and Scott Hayes of Spooner, Wisc.; his siblings, Carol Voth of Goodhue and Duane Zemke (Lynne) of Bellingham, Wash.; and his brother-in-law Paul Pechacek of Ceder Falls, Iowa. He is also survived by 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
