She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ruth Salverson and Louis Salverson; her former husband Benjamin Stephani; her husband Ben; her sister Nancy Ruuhela (David) of Portland, OR.; her children, Eric Melbye of Apple Valley, Jennifer Steele (Allen) of Morgantown, WV, Susan Lindstrom (David), David Stephani (Tammie) of Aitkin, Lynn Martens (Gary) of Hartland, WI and Sharon Perko (Steven) of Roswell, GA.; her grandchildren, Thor Melbye, Annabelle Melbye, Jon Stephani, Stephanie Lindstrom, Nicole Lindstrom, Catie Koch, Tony Stephani, Shelly Stephani, Tim Martens, Andrew Martens, Brianna Crotty and Tina Louissaint; her niece Beth Rear; and her nephew Matthew Ruuhela. She was also cherished by six children and stepchildren.
Karen touched everyone around her with her quick, beautiful smile and with the optimism and strength she demonstrated throughout her 30-year battle with Parkinson's.
