It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gerald McRae of Red Wing, Minnesota, who passed away at the age of 79, on January 31, 2024. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Bonita "Bonnie" Deden; and his siblings, John, Paul, Donald, Elizabeth Field, Joan Schultz, Norma McRae and Ida Goplin.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph McRae (Nancy) of Deephaven, Ann Gonsior (Bob) of Red Wing and Helen Yates of Tucson, Arizona; his grandchildren, Kenna, Ellen McRae, Olivia, Samuel, Wyatt Gonsior and Ryan Yates; and his sister Beatrice Bestul (Kurt). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, God-children, other family and many friends.

Memorials are preferred to the Parkinson Foundation.

“My sympathy to Jerry's family. I knew Jerry when I was young and lived just down the road in Burnside. I had a horse and rode with Jerry's niece Brenda McRae. When Jerry was going into active duty for the National Guard, he asked me to ride his 3 yr old Arab stallion, Roufer until he returned. It was an incredible experience to ride that truly exceptional horse and I was so honored that Jerry chose me to keep Roufer in shape. At 74, I’m still riding! Nancy Miller Pinke”
