He was predeceased by: his wife Teresa Fisher; his former wife Viola Grim; his parents, Edward Joseph Grant, Sr. and Pauline Parker; and his sister Dagmar.

He is survived by: his sons, Eric (Kathy), Brian, Gail, Barry (Geseell) and Edward Jr. (Lynitra); and his stepdaughters, Deborah Gloria, Diana Rasmussen (Bruce) and Denise Van Deusen. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
