It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorraine Banitt of Red Wing, Minnesota, who passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dorraine Banitt to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Alms and Elsie Alms (Gerdes); her husband Walter Banitt; her son Dean Banitt; her son-in-law Craig Kurtti; and her sister Ardelle Alms.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Banitt (Patricia) of Goodhue, Deborah Weinrich (Steven) of Lake City, Denise Simanski (Shelly) of Red Wing, Dale Banitt (Kari Janssen) of Red Wing, Dawn Laffey (Pete Christiansen) of Red Wing, Dianne Lee (Daniel) of Goodhue and Darryl Banitt (Lori) of Cannon Falls; her brother Myron Alms (Ruth) of Red Wing; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Beck and Margaret Banitt. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (24686 315th St, Red Wing, MN 55066). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are preferred to Immanual Lutheran Church or Mayo Hospice.
