He was predeceased by: his father Kevin Pirius. He is survived by: his former wife Patti Gravert; his daughter Karissa Short (Joe) of Red Wing; his grandson Carson Curtis of Red Wing; his sisters, Phyllis Mathew and Fay Peterson; and his close friend Liz Burhans of Battle Lake, MN. He is also survived by two nieces along with other relatives and many friends.

“About 1961 I saw Fungi fire engine red Chevy that he sold to Rick Tebbe— 50 years later I saw him playing and performing at the Harbor Bar—fifty years he had the same zest for life and excitement—- when Hollywood comes to Red wing they’ll be looking for Fungi to do a movie or write a novel—I’m proud and happy to have known him!!
