It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Cota of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, born in Crookston, Minnesota, who passed away on May 11, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Napoleon Cota and Imelda Cota (Huot); his wife Cheri Ann; his siblings, Lyzum, Medi, Henry, Leo, Adelore Cota, Celia Guzek, Mabel Mercil, Sr., Imelda Cota, Leda Weiland, Viola Fitzsimmons, Sr., Raphael Cota, Alice Sirek and Mildred Vilven; and his goddaughter Shelly Schindler.
He is survived by: his children, Sandy Stokke (Alan) of Fargo, ND, Peggy Nordstrom (Rob) of Fergus Falls, MN, Nancy Cota and Tim Cota of Silt, CO; his grandchildren, Nicholas Stokke (Teresa), Christopher Stokke (Mariah), Alyssa Stausch (Danny), Nikki Stewart (Craig), Trish Puffe (Dustin), Ryan Finkenbinder and Eli Nordstrom; his great grandchildren, Dezi Puffe, Alana Stewart, Hailey Stokke, Harper Stokke, Emerson and Parker Stokke; and his brother-in-law Lawrence Leach. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
