He was predeceased by: his great-grandparents, Winchell, Spillman and Tix. He is survived by: his parents, Brian Nicolai and Sandra Nicolai; his siblings, Kaden, Mason Schafer and Ellyana; his grandparents, Randy, Teri Nicolai, Roland and Dorothy Spillman; and his aunts and uncles, Pauline (Joe May), Jan (Todd VanWatermeulen), Caryn, Dave Riley, Josh (Ashlee Nicolai) and Kent (Holly Nicolai).

Due to the current restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, people will remain in their cars and may drive past and offer condolences to Carter's family.
