He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Hertaus and Elizabeth Hertaus (Marek); his wife Janice Kechely; his children, Todd (Marion) and Penny; and his grandson Andrew.

For the next 58 years, he served his community in this trade and relished the interactions with his client, with many becoming life-long friends Of those years, Roman was self-employed for twenty plus years, in Bloomington, MN, right up until the Coronavirus stopped him from working.
