He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marvin Schmitz and Loretta Schmitz (Pelzel); his wife Kira Sorensen; his children, Mason (Karen) of Brooklyn Park, MN and Monte (Dawn) of Shakopee, MN; his grandchildren, Kendall, Zachary Schmitz and Isabelle Walker; and his siblings, Nancy Olson (Kim), Dennis Schmitz (Sue), Mark Schmitz (Gail), Jeff Schmitz (Kris) and Troy Schmitz (Bonnie). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
