He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruno Hanel and Margaret Hanel (Statham); and his siblings, Harold and Barbara. He is survived by: his wife Marie R. Kringle; his grandchildren, Jean, Deanna and Tricia; his children, Brian Hanel (Joanie) of Marion, IA, Jeanine Ryan (Russell) of Altoona, WI, Deanna Thompson (Barry) of Wabasha, MN, Kevin Hanel (Laurie) of St. Croix Falls, WI and Patricia Torrens-Burton (Jonathan) of Oronoco, MN.; his brothers, Donald Hanel (Carol) of Prior Lake, MN and Richard Hanel (Joy) of Mankato, MN; and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Hanel (Harold) of Portland, OR. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
