He was predeceased by: his parent Hilke Ryks (Santjer); his wife Elaine; his daughter Gwen; and his sons-in-law, Richard Ackerman and Lowell Freiborg.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly, Bruse of Willmar, Joyce Ackerman of Bemidji, William Jr., Dennis, Wendy Freiborg of Glenwood, Sandi, Renae, Slagter of Lake Lillian and Patci. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and forty-four great grandchildren.
