She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Gort and Grace Gort; and her siblings, Harold, Robert, Gladyce and Sadie.

She is survived by: her husband Virgil Gerdes of Prinsburg; and her children, Steve Gerdes (Julie) of Casa Grande, AZ., Kim Gerdes (Fern) of Willmar, Kathy Jaarsma of Las Vegas, NV and Keith Gerdes of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Central Minnesota Christian School are preferred.
