He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Thompson and Aurelia Thompson (Krause); his siblings, Jean Lawrence, Shirley Freiheit and Bud Thompson; and his granddaughter Bailey Koens.
He is survived by: his former wife Joyce Ericson; his daughters, Vicki Jorgenson (Rod) of Kasson and Karen Koens of Apple Valley; his grandsons, Tyler, Trent and Taylor Koens of Apple Valley; and his sister-in-law Shirley Thompson of Spring Valley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
