He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Basswood and Anna Basswood Sr. (Rice); his son Delmar Basswood, Jr.; his stepson Mason Smith; and his siblings, Richinda Rock, Margaret "Dolly" Basswood, Debra Conklin, Mary Lou Basswood, Rosetta Basswood, Doris Weaver, Jenny Mae Basswood, Richard, Maynard, Albert Jr. and Rolland Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Regina Smith; his children, LeRoy Basswood (Bonnie), Calvin Basswood, Kevin Basswood, Rochelle Basswood, Sharon Basswood (William Annette) and Melissa Basswood (Jeffrey Annette); his stepdaughter Blossom Annette; and his sister Pat Miller. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
