He is survived by: his son-in-law Chris; his former spouses, Robin Somdahl (Suhr) and Ken Dahlgren; his wife Sheri Smith (Quaal); his daughter Hope Barta (Chris); his granddaughters, Mattyson Barta Ashton (Brandan Lee) and Allison Barta (Race Heitcamp); his sister Diane Ewert (Denny); his nephews, Chris Ewert (Stephanie) and Liam Conners-Smith; and his niece Missy Keller (Lee).
