He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Boyd and Eleanora Boyd (McGrath); and his siblings, Bill, Ed and Ethel.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Sylvester; his children, Chuck Boyd (Nicki) of St Paul, Theresa Schreiber (Donny) of Plainview and Elizabeth Pavlick (Richard) of Spirit Lake, IA.; and his brothers, Donald, Bob and Russell. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
