He was predeceased by: his parents, Helmut Kalk and Clara Kalk (Kuehn); his half-brother Robert Kuehn; and his brothers-in-law, Walter Christison and Fred Thompson.

He is survived by: his sisters, Darlene Thompson of Nashville, TN and Donna Christison of Plainview. He is also survived by two nieces and several cousins.
