He was predeceased by: his parents, Tracy Hicks and Helen Hicks (Glotfelter); his children, Perry Hicks, Karen David and John David; his siblings, George, Mary Morton (Hicks) and Elisabeth "Bobis" Barker (Hicks); and his siblings-in-law, Donna Hicks Inglis (Root) and Donald Morton.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his children, Carolyn Hicks Lewis of Greenfield, MN and Stephen Hicks (Valerie) of White, SD; his daughter-in-law Alee Hicks; and his stepgrandson Sam of Buffalo, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
