He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert DeWeerd and Jacoba DeWeerd (DeGroot); his in-laws, Marvin, Martha DeWeerd, Dennis Willert, Gerrit Doppenberg, Marie DeWeerd and Howard DeWeerd; his nephew Brent DeWeerd; and his great-nephews, Delbert Willert, Nathan Ellis and Cuyler Willert.
He is survived by: his siblings, Theressa DeWeerd of Mesa, Darlene Willert of Lake Benton, Edith Doppenberg of Ripon, Arthur DeWeerd (Marie) of Pipestone, Donald DeWeerd (Beverly) of Pipestone, Harold DeWeerd of Mesquite and Esther Masselink (Robert) of Edgerton, Minnesota. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
