She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Schmitz and Anna Schmitz (Becker); her husband Robert Nelson; her son Jeffrey; and her daughter-in-law Kristi Jo Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Houselog (Tom) of Pipestone, Minnesota, David Nelson of Pipestone, Minnesota and Tom Nelson (Sara) of Pipestone, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Eric Houselog (Katie), Alison Carlson (Josh), Matthew Houselog (Jennifer), Kellie Lorenzen (Lucas), Paul Nelson (Frankie), Mitchell Nelson (Nicole) and Lynn Larsen (Levi); and her great grandchildren, Caden, Will Houselog, Ethan, Noah, Graham Carlson, Hudson, Henna Houselog, Elyse, Madison, Leo, Isaac Lorenzen, Robert, Roanin, Haizlee Nelson, Maya, Casey Nelson, Leightyn and Lennyn Larsen.
