She was predeceased by: her father Marinus Jagt; her husband Clarence Gorter; her son Darwin; her grandson Bill; her mother Nellie Beckering; her stepfather Frank Beckering; her half-brother Duane Beckering; and her stepbrother Richard Beckering.

She is survived by: her children, Russell, Lake Benton and Pipestone; her former husband John Schoep; her children, Forrest (Mary), Diane, Larry (Jane), Laurene Dufault (Randy), David (Mona), Debra and Richard (Carolyn); her half-brother Donald Beckering (Mary); her stepsister AnnaBelle Schelhaas (Ernie); and also, Ryer and Clara Van Essen. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with another great-grandchild.

“Forrest, your mom and dad were so sweet. They always treated my brothers and me like family. I know it's a sad day for you, but I really believe your mom is up there in Heaven with Clarence now. I remember the day your dad took me along with him on his sales route, in the white Chevy company station wagon. He turned up the radio real loud and sang along with the Everly Brothers ...
