She was predeceased by: her father Robert "Bob" Hurd; her in-laws, Vernon and Eunice Schlapkohl; and her siblings-in-law, Connie Hurd, Diane Schlapkohl, Duane Schlapkohl and Robert Willert.
She is survived by: her mother Barbara Ann Hurd (Schmidt) of Lake Benton; her friend Daryl Schlapkohl of John's Evangelical Lutheran Church; her husband Daryl of Lake Benton; her children, Mike Schlapkohl (Shannen) of Sioux Falls, ElsieAnn Blom (Kyle) of Edgerton and Jon Schlapkohl (Kristin) of Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Griffen, Liam, Tilly Schlapkohl, Lauren Blom, Evie and Couyer Schlapkohl; and her brothers, Jeff Hurd of Brandon and Mark Hurd of Lake Benton. She is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
During COVID times, she and Daryl began watching the livestreams from Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
