He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving "Doc" Hofius and Madolin Hofius (Schultze); and his siblings, Henry LaVere, Gordon, Ronnie and Pat Niskanen.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Steinhauer of Jenkins, MN; his children, Michael (Michelle) of Stillwater, MN and Tracy Kellen of Nevis, MN; his siblings, Charlie (Irma) of Littlefork, MN, Larry (Laura) of Pequot Lakes, MN, Judy Seder (Don) of Pueblo, CO, Mary Cunningham (Richard Talbert) of Fallon, NV and Nancy Lakin of Orange City, FL; and his granddaughter Stephanie Canton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
