He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Poncelet and Lois Poncelet (Figy); his siblings, Jeaneen Ryks and Gary Poncelet; his parents-in-law, Allen and Marian Sigrist; and his brother-in-law Douglas Sigrist.

He is survived by: his wife Theresa "Terry" Sigrist; his daughters, Michelle Poncelet of Pine Island and Rebecca "Becca" Gersch (David) of Saint James, Minnesota; his pets, Joplin, Gettysburg, Bella Boo and Savannah Gersch; his siblings-in-law, Ilka Poncelet of Denver, Colorado and Duane Sigrist (Patricia) of Maple Grove; his nieces and nephews, Ellie Byers, Emmie Bolin, Heather Breyer, Roger Rodenz, Benjamin Sigrist and Adam Sigrist; and his aunts, Alice Timm of Missouri and Arleen Sperry of Owatonna.
